Why I Started This Site

No, I wasn't high.

Everyone starts something for a reaosn. Violent Acres started her site because she had something to say. WoW gold sellers started their sites to make money with illegal transactions. So why did I start mine?

Simple: a friend told me to.

Well, sort of. I've had a bunch of personal websites over the years and all of them were terrible. One hosted some 300 comic strips I made known as "Joshe Comics" that my friends loved so much. Another housed some bad games I made that hardly contained any originality (If you happened to play the game "MechaMan 2.0, that was me. Sorry. Send me an e-mail though, I have something for you.). Yet another website hosted my first (atrocious) works as a rock composer. I started all these crapheaps because it was entertaining at the time and I still had friends.

Doodles and comics have been with me my whole life, as much as I want to deny it. No matter what I try to do, such as learning guitar, making crappy games, and probably writing now, it always comes back to those funny little drawings I do that entertain people so much. In fact, this is probably how this particular crapheap got started. Back when I was in a different guild on a different server on World of Warcraft, we used to have a forum where we'd make jokes and be huge WoW nerds. I don't remember what spurred me into making a comic, but something did and I came up with a crappy one-frame comic about gnomes being crushed to death by drunken dwarves. I made a few more and scored a big hit with this one and this one.

The owner of the website and forum who has since closed the site and seemingly disappeared off the face of the planet, WHO, really liked my comics. She told me that of all the stuff her fans have sent her, my stuff was something she'd actually like to have associated with her site, which was saying a lot. She offered me a spot on the site to make more crappy comics, but the plan fell through and it never happened. I never heard from her again. With nowhere to put my comics, I turned to a free Angelfire service for a while.

Fast forward a month or two, and a few guildies and I moved to a new server and established a new era of awesomeness. The new guildleader had a website and forum as well, so I immediately started innundating it with my foul art. He offered me a spot on the front page as well, and this time it actually happened. I uploaded comics every so often, people would laugh, and all would be good.

Back in late November, early December 2006, I was talking to a friend of mine from the old guild. I was throwing around the idea of investing in a real website where people could look at my comics and maybe pay me money, but I wasn't sure whether or not I should. She basically told me to quit being a baby and just make it. So I did, and I've been putting up WoW comics and articles nobody reads ever since.

After having this site for almost two months now, I can say that I don't regret making the purchase. Working on the site is fun and a great time waster while I'm waiting for porn to download at five in the morning.
